Whipsaw is a two man Guitar/Banjo – Drum duo from the weeping woods of Portland Oregon. This is a new band but these boys are not new to this. Henry Hill spent 25y years as the songwriter, guitarist and vocalist of heralded Portland band Hillstomp. Drummer Noah Phillips is a founding member of (equally heralded) Portland folk punk band The Taxpayers. These two fellas came together in early 2026 and the walls immediately began to sweat. The Sun turned a deep pink and the Sturgeon deep in the Willamette looked at each other as if to say, “Finally” This is Blues, this is Folk punk, this is dance music, this is Appalachian devil tunes.
